A spiral heat exchanger is a type of heat exchanger that consists of two heat transfer plates (spiral plates) wound in a spiral shape, featuring two elongated rectangular flow channel cross-sections, resembling a thick mosquito coil. The standard spiral heat exchanger comes in two models: Type 1, primarily used as a liquid-liquid heat exchanger, and Type 2, used as a condenser or gas cooler.
